🌉🐾 Visiting London Bridge in Lake Havasu City, Arizona - An Iconic Landmark in the Desert
Simba the Adventure Pup 🐾 and I visited the iconic London Bridge in Lake Havasu City, Arizona — a historic structure with one of the strangest and most fascinating backstories in the American Southwest. Originally built in England in the 1800s, this famous bridge was carefully dismantled, shipped across the world, and reassembled here in the Arizona desert during the late 1960s.
Today, London Bridge spans a man-made channel lined with boats, palm trees, and waterfront walkways, creating a surreal contrast between Old-World stonework and sunbaked desert scenery. Standing on it feels equal parts historic, unexpected, and uniquely American.

🌵 Why London Bridge Is Such a Unique Stop
London Bridge isn’t just a relocated structure — it’s a full-blown conversation starter. Each stone was numbered, shipped, and reassembled exactly as it stood in England, preserving its authenticity while giving it an entirely new setting.
Walking across it, you’re surrounded by water, boats, and desert hills instead of the River Thames. It’s one of those places that makes you pause and smile at how strange — and ambitious — human ideas can be.
If you enjoy famous landmarks, quirky history, or road-trip stops that feel completely out of place, London Bridge in Lake Havasu City absolutely belongs on your list.
