π Street Whale – A Creative Wonder in Golden Gate Park
Simba πΎ and I stopped by the Street Whale installation on the JFK Promenade in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco — a breathtaking 49-foot-long humpback whale made from reclaimed wood and upcycled materials, created by local artist Reuben Rude.
This imaginative piece, part sculpture and part mural, appears to “swim” down the promenade, with its graceful body stretching along the pavement and its 11-foot-tall tail rising proudly from the walkway. The artwork blends sustainability, creativity, and a deep respect for the natural world — a perfect reflection of San Francisco’s artistic soul.
