Visiting Hat ’n Boots at Oxbow Park in Seattle, WA

Simba 🐾 and I stopped by one of Seattle’s quirkiest landmarks—the Hat ’n Boots in Oxbow Park! These oversized cowboy hat and boots are a colorful piece of roadside Americana with a unique history.

Originally built in the 1950s as part of a Western-themed gas station, the hat once served as the station office while the boots were restrooms. Today, they live on as a fun public art installation in the Georgetown neighborhood, bringing smiles (and plenty of photo ops) to visitors.

Why Visit Hat ’n Boots

This roadside gem is more than just kitschy art—it’s a slice of Seattle history. The structures were moved to Oxbow Park in 2003 to be preserved and enjoyed by the public. Today, they serve as a reminder of mid-century roadside culture while adding a quirky charm to the Georgetown neighborhood.

It’s the perfect stop if you:

- Love offbeat roadside attractions
- Appreciate historic Americana
- Want a quick, dog-friendly stop in Seattle
