🌲 The Grandfather Tree – A Living Giant of Garberville, California
Simba 🐾 and I visited the incredible Grandfather Tree in Garberville, California, one of the most massive and awe-inspiring redwoods along the Avenue of the Giants! 🌲
Standing at over 265 feet tall and estimated to be more than 1,800 years old, the Grandfather Tree is a true natural wonder. This ancient redwood has stood for centuries — through fires, storms, and time itself — a living monument to the strength and beauty of California’s redwood forests.

🌳 A True Redwood Elder
The Grandfather Tree’s massive trunk and towering canopy are awe-inspiring up close. Its weathered bark tells stories of centuries gone by — a living timeline of the natural world. Despite its age, the tree continues to thrive, supported by the deep, interconnected root system of the surrounding forest.
Right beside the tree sits a small local shop where you can find handcrafted souvenirs, redwood carvings, and regional keepsakes — making this stop both educational and fun.
