🚗🌲 Driving Through the Legendary Tour Thru Tree – Klamath, California

Simba 🐾 and I visited the legendary Tour Thru Tree in Klamath, California — one of the few remaining drive-thru redwood trees on the West Coast! This classic roadside attraction perfectly blends nostalgia, nature, and the awe-inspiring beauty of California’s redwoods.

Carved into a living coastal redwood, this incredible natural tunnel allows you to drive right through the massive trunk — surrounded by towering forest giants that seem to touch the sky. 🌲✨ It’s a must-see for road trippers exploring the Redwood Highway and a fun stop for travelers chasing classic Americana.

🌲 A Living Piece of Roadside History

The Tour Thru Tree was carefully carved decades ago, allowing cars to pass through while keeping the tree alive and thriving. Unlike many “cut-down” tourist trees from the early 20th century, this one is still living, standing tall as both a natural wonder and a reminder of old-school road trips. 🚙✨

It’s one of only a few remaining drive-thru trees in California, making it a true piece of redwood lore along Highway 101.

🐾 Simba’s Redwood Adventure

Simba couldn’t drive, but he loved exploring the forest floor around the site — sniffing the pine-scented air and standing in the shadow of trees older than some civilizations! 🌲🐕 For both of us, it was a humbling reminder of just how grand nature can be.
