Walking with Dinosaurs at Dinosaur Ridge ðĶ Morrison, Colorado Adventure
Simba and I set out on a prehistoric adventure to Dinosaur Ridge in Morrison, Colorado, one of the world’s most famous fossil sites and a designated National Natural Landmark. Nestled in the Rocky Mountain foothills, this incredible trail gives visitors the chance to walk where dinosaurs once roamed and see real fossilized evidence preserved in stone.
ðĶī A Prehistoric Walk Through Time
Dinosaur Ridge is best known for its dinosaur tracks, bones, and fossils that are still visible today. As we made our way along the trail, we saw:
- Dinosaur footprints embedded in the rock, perfectly preserved from millions of years ago.- Fossilized bones and ripple marks, showcasing the ancient environment.
- Layers of sandstone that reveal the area’s geological history.
Standing next to these imprints, it’s humbling to imagine the massive creatures that once walked the same ground.
ð️ Stunning Rocky Mountain Scenery
The trail isn’t just about fossils — it’s also surrounded by beautiful Colorado landscapes. With rolling foothills, sweeping views, and open skies, it’s the perfect mix of science, history, and natural beauty. Simba enjoyed the walk, though he was more interested in sniffing the plants than the fossils. ðū
ðĨ Capturing the Adventure
I took plenty of photos and videos along the ridge, including close-ups of the dinosaur tracks and panoramic shots of the surrounding mountains. The combination of prehistoric history and breathtaking views makes Dinosaur Ridge an unforgettable stop for travelers, photographers, and geology enthusiasts alike.
