In the early 2000s, Wallace officially declared its downtown intersection to be the Center of the Universe—complete with a manhole cover marking the spot. Why? Because no one could prove it wasn’t! This tongue-in-cheek declaration captures the humor and character of Wallace, a historic mining town known for its friendly locals, rich history, and playful spirit.
