A Park That Tells Spokane’s Story
Riverfront Park isn’t just a green space—it’s woven into Spokane’s history. Once the site of the 1974 World’s Fair (Expo ‘74), the park was transformed from rail yards into a vibrant gathering space in the heart of downtown. Today, it’s one of the city’s most popular attractions, offering something for everyone: waterfalls, historic structures, public art, playgrounds, and peaceful walking paths.
Scenic Views and City Vibes
Standing near Spokane Falls, you can feel the power of the river rushing through downtown—it’s dramatic, beautiful, and the perfect backdrop for photos. The Clocktower, a remnant of Spokane’s old train station, rises above the park as a reminder of the city’s railroad past.
As Simba and I walked through, we found plenty of shady spots, wide open lawns, and trails that made the day relaxing and enjoyable. For families, the park’s Big Red Wagon playground is a favorite, while travelers will love discovering the unique art installations scattered throughout.
