๐งถ๐บ๐ธ Twisted Fun at JFK’s World Famous Ball of Twine – Lake Nebagamon, WI ๐พ
While winding through northern Wisconsin, Simba the Adventure Pup and I made a pit stop at one of the state’s most wonderfully weird roadside attractions: JFK’s World Famous Ball of Twine! ๐
This quirky wonder in Lake Nebagamon is a giant spool of string turned small-town legend — and it’s the perfect break from the road if you love offbeat Americana, novelty landmarks, or just need a chuckle and a photo op.

๐ฅ What We Did
Simba and I snapped some great photos, recorded a quick video tour, and spent time reading the signage that gives this enormous tangle of twine its world-famous reputation. It’s part joke, part tribute to the oddball spirit of American roadside culture — and fully worth a few minutes of your time.
Whether you're a fan of roadside kitsch, Route 66-style stops, or just love discovering the unexpected, this twine ball will make you smile. It's housed under a covered structure, complete with signs and JFK memorabilia, adding to the charm.
๐ถ Simba’s Review
Simba was curious but cautious — definitely intrigued by the smell of thousands of layers of string. He took full advantage of the open yard space to stretch his legs and check out the scenery (and maybe hunt for a stick or two nearby ๐).
๐ Life on Paws and Wheels – Why We Stopped
As part of our full-time RV journey, we love mixing scenic hikes, dog-friendly parks, and quirky stops like this. The Ball of Twine added a little joy, laughter, and uniqueness to our Midwest travels — and it’s exactly the kind of offbeat gem that makes road life so memorable.
If you're ever passing through northwest Wisconsin, it’s absolutely worth a visit. Bonus: you don’t need more than 15–20 minutes, making it a great quick stop on any itinerary.
