π£️ Enchanted Highway Road Trip – Giant Sculptures & Prairie Whimsy with Simba the Adventure Pup! πΊπΈ✨
If you're the kind of traveler who loves quirky roadside attractions, big art, and wide open skies, then this one's for you! Simba the Adventure Pup and I road-tripped down North Dakota’s famous Enchanted Highway, and it was everything we hoped it would be — whimsical, weird, wonderful… and totally unforgettable. πΎπ¨
π What Is the Enchanted Highway?
The Enchanted Highway is a 32-mile stretch of road between Gladstone and Regent, North Dakota, featuring seven massive metal sculptures created by local artist Gary Greff. These towering installations rise from the rolling prairie and make the drive feel like a trip through a roadside dreamland.
Each sculpture has a pull-off for parking, so you can hop out, explore, and snap some epic photos — and yes, it’s all dog-friendly, so Simba was right there wagging his tail at every stop! πΆ❤️
π Featured Sculptures We Visited:
π¦ Geese in Flight
This enormous piece holds the Guinness World Record for the largest scrap metal sculpture. It marks the official start of the Enchanted Highway in Gladstone!
π¦ Deer Crossing
Two massive deer leap above the prairie in this dynamic installation. Simba loved watching the prairie grass sway in the breeze around them.
π¦ Grasshoppers in the Field
One of the most playful stops — giant green grasshoppers that look like they’re about to hop right into your photo.
π£ Fisherman’s Dream
A fantastical scene with a boat, fish, and underwater life made entirely of metal. Super creative and fun to walk around!
π¦ Pheasants on the Prairie
Huge, vibrant pheasants that make you feel like you’ve shrunk down into a wildlife postcard. Simba was fascinated by these towering birds.
π€ Teddy Rides Again
A tribute to Theodore Roosevelt, this giant piece shows him riding a horse across the plains. It’s a nod to North Dakota’s connection to the former president.
π₯« World’s Largest Tin Family
Our final stop in Regent! A quirky and cheerful trio of tin people — mom, dad, and child — welcoming you to the end of the highway with some wholesome Midwest charm.
