Simba 🐶 and I laced up, hit the trail, and were rewarded with panoramic views, peaceful forest paths, and a jaw-dropping overlook that makes every mile worth it. 🌲✨

The Buzzards Roost Trail is a true Black Hills gem — combining rugged terrain, scenic overlooks, and stretches of peaceful woodland. The trail begins with a gentle forested climb before opening up to sweeping views of cliffs, rolling hills, and the valley below.

Simba sniffed every pine needle in sight while I soaked in the fresh mountain air. We stopped at a few scenic points along the way, but nothing compares to the final overlook at Buzzards Roost. Standing there, looking out over miles of natural beauty, you can’t help but feel a deep sense of calm and awe.
