π¦πΎ Strolling Big Spring Park with Simba the Adventure Pup! Huntsville, AL πΈπΆ♂️
Hey trail friends! Ash here — and this week, Simba the Adventure Pup and I took a city-style detour through the heart of Huntsville, Alabama with a peaceful walk at the gorgeous Big Spring International Park. ππΆπΈ
This urban green space is a gem — perfect for a low-key break with your pup, especially if you’re RVing through North Alabama or exploring downtown on foot. With koi-filled ponds, shady paths, fountains, and bridges, this was a quick stop that totally filled our cup. ☀️π§

π What We Loved About Big Spring Park
We started our walk near the iconic red Japanese bridge (you can’t miss it — it’s picture-perfect!), then wandered along the spring-fed canal that runs through the park. The sound of fountains, the splash of koi, and the soft breeze made it a surprisingly relaxing spot right in the middle of downtown Huntsville.
Some highlights:
✔️ Cherry blossom trees πΈ (in season = chef’s kiss)
✔️ Fountains & bridges over calm, clear water π¦
✔️ Sculptures, benches, and great people-watching π
✔️ Tons of sniff-worthy zones, according to Simba ππ
✔️ Ducks, koi fish, and just enough foot traffic to keep it interesting ππ¦
π Simba’s City Park Review
Simba was totally into it. He loved watching the ducks (from a respectful distance πΎ), exploring the shaded pathways, and making friends with a few locals on their lunch breaks. π
This park is perfect for dogs who enjoy a calm walk with lots of sensory fun — smells, sounds, and cool pavement underpaw. πΎπΏ
