🌳🐾 Hiking the Mossy Ridge Trail with Simba the Adventure Pup! Percy Warner Park, TN 🌿πŸ₯Ύ

Hey trail fam! Ash here — and Simba the Adventure Pup and I just wrapped up a refreshing forest adventure on the beautiful Mossy Ridge Trail Loop at Percy Warner Park, right outside Brentwood/Nashville, Tennessee! πŸΆπŸ’šπŸŒ²

If you're looking for a peaceful, dog-friendly day hike with rolling hills, bird songs, and mossy woodland magic, this one hits every note. Bonus: it's just a short drive from downtown Nashville!

πŸ“ Trail Details

Location: Percy Warner Park – Brentwood/Nashville, TN
Trail Name: Mossy Ridge Trail
Distance: ~4.5-mile loop
Difficulty: Moderate (some elevation, lots of gentle switchbacks)
Dog-Friendly: 100%! Simba was in sniffing heaven 🐾🌳
Highlights: Wooded ridgelines, quiet hollows, shady forest paths

πŸ₯Ύ The Hike

We started from the Deep Well Trailhead, which offers ample parking, restrooms, and clear signage for the trail. Right from the start, we were greeted by lush greenery, chirping birds, and a cool canopy of hardwood trees.

The Mossy Ridge Loop is well-marked and offers the perfect balance of rolling terrain, peaceful moments, and enough elevation to feel like a workout — without being too tough on pups or hikers. πŸ’ͺπŸ•

🌿 Trail Vibes

• Gentle ridgelines with dappled sunlight
• Forest floor covered in ferns, leaves, and mossy roots
• Occasional wooden footbridges over shallow creek beds
• Plenty of shade, even in warmer weather 🌀️

Simba trotted happily, ears perked, nose to the ground, tail wagging — the kind of trail joy only a dog can truly express. πŸΆπŸ’›

🐢 Dog-Friendly Tips

✔️ Leash required — and definitely appreciated in tighter trail sections
✔️ Water & collapsible bowl — there are no fountains on the loop πŸ’§
✔️ Trail is mostly dirt with rocks and roots — great paw traction
✔️ Go early for cooler temps and fewer crowds
✔️ Simba's trail rating: 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 for nonstop nature stimulation!

🚐 RV + Travel Notes

• While Percy Warner Park doesn’t have RV camping, there are options nearby in Brentwood and Nashville
• This is an excellent mid-day hike or weekend stop if you’re road-tripping through Middle Tennessee
• The Deep Well Trailhead parking area can accommodate vans and smaller setups — arrive early on weekends!
