🪨🐾 Hiking the Ledges Trail - Cuyahoga Valley National Park with Simba the Adventure Pup 🌲🚐

Hey trail friends! Ash here — and this week, Simba and I laced up (okay, just me) and hit one of Ohio’s most iconic hikes: the Ledges Trail in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. And let me tell you — it was rock solid in every sense of the word. 😉

Nestled in Summit County, this 2.3-mile loop is packed with towering sandstone walls, moss-covered corridors, and a final payoff that’s nothing short of epic: the Ledges Overlook, where we paused for a biscuit (Simba) and a breath of fresh air (me).

Location: Ledges Trail – Cuyahoga Valley National Park, OH
Distance: ~2.3-mile loop
Difficulty: Easy to moderate (rocky terrain in spots)

🥾 Our Hike Experience

We started the loop from the Ledges Trailhead and were immediately greeted by towering rock faces, shady forest paths, and the kind of geology that makes you stop and stare. The air was cool, the light filtered just right through the trees, and Simba was in full sniff-and-lead mode from the get-go.

Trail highlights included:

🌄 A breathtaking stop at the Ledges Overlook, perfect for a water break and some golden hour magic

🌄 Ledges Overlook

At roughly the halfway mark, we reached the famous Ledges Overlook, where the forest opens up to reveal a stunning view over the valley below. It’s peaceful, expansive, and feels like you’re standing at the edge of something timeless.

Simba sat quietly, ears perked, watching the breeze ripple across the trees. We both just… took it in. This moment? One for the memory bank.
