πŸ₯Ύ Our Route

We parked near the Whitewater Express area, where there’s plenty of parking and easy access to both the RiverWalk and Waveshaper Island — a small but exciting pedestrian zone surrounded by whitewater rapids and kayaking channels.

🌊 The RiverWalk

The Chattahoochee RiverWalk is a 15-mile trail, but we explored a gorgeous ~2-mile segment filled with:

🌿 Shaded seating areas
🎨 Outdoor sculptures & murals
🐦 Birdsong and river breeze
🚣‍♂️ Views of kayakers riding rapids!

Simba loved the open paths, quiet corners, and the gentle sound of the river as we strolled along the water’s edge. It’s the perfect mix of peaceful and people-watching. πŸ‘€πŸ•

🏝️ Waveshaper Island

Waveshaper Island is a pedestrian-only bridge-access island that runs right through the heart of the rapids. It’s full of energy — from kayakers flying through whitewater to visitors sitting on stone walls watching the action.

We crossed the bridge, looped the island, and even found a few hidden benches perfect for a quick snack break. πŸ₯€πŸΎ

🐢 Dog-Friendly Trail Notes

✔️ Water fountains & trash bins available along the RiverWalk πŸ’§πŸ—‘️
✔️ Plenty of grassy spots and shady trees for rest breaks 🌳
✔️ Simba’s favorite part? Watching the kayakers splash by from the edge of the island πŸ›Ά
