🌳🐾 A Chill Day in Nashville with Simba the Adventure Pup - Centennial Park & Martin’s BBQ πŸ–πŸŽΆ

Hey trail (and city) fam! Ash here — and Simba the Adventure Pup and I took a little detour from our usual forest trails for a laid-back urban adventure in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee! πŸΆπŸŒ†

Sometimes the best kind of adventure is a city stroll and a good meal — and this combo had it all: iconic sights, green space, local flavor, and a dog-friendly patio that smelled just as good as it sounds. πŸ˜‹

πŸ“ Stop #1: Centennial Park – Nashville, TN

Centennial Park is one of Nashville’s most beloved public parks, and we totally see why! It’s got shaded walking paths, wide open lawns, a peaceful pond, and of course… the one and only full-scale Parthenon replica! πŸ›️🌳🐾

🐢 Why Simba Loved It:

• Tons of space to trot, sniff, and stretch his legs
• Shady spots under giant trees = nap-worthy
• Ducks and birds = 10/10 tail wags
• The Parthenon backdrop? Perfect for pup photos πŸ“Έ

We strolled the full loop around the pond, snapped some shots in front of the Parthenon, and just enjoyed the slower pace. It’s a great stop if you’re RVing through the city or just need a relaxing dog-friendly place to stretch out.

πŸ“ Stop #2: Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint – Belmont Blvd, Nashville, TN

After working up an appetite, we headed to Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint — a dog-friendly Nashville staple known for Tennessee-style whole hog BBQ, smoky sides, and chill patio vibes. πŸ–πŸ”₯

We went to the Belmont Blvd location, which has a cozy covered patio out front — perfect for pups and people-watching.

🍽️ What We Tried:

• Pulled pork sandwich (SO good)
• Slaw + cornbread on the side
• Sweet tea to seal the deal 🍡

Simba sat happily beside me, taking in the smells, meeting fellow patio pups, and sneaking a few approved bites of plain pork (no sauce!). 🐾

🐢 Dog-Friendly Notes

✔️ Leash required at the park and restaurant
✔️ Plenty of shade and grass at Centennial Park 🌳
✔️ Martin’s patio is super welcoming to dogs — water bowls available
✔️ Great combo for a low-key day in the city with your pup

🚐 RV + Travel Tips

• RV camping available just outside the city at spots like Nashville KOA or Two Rivers Campground
• If you're visiting by van or tow car, street parking is easiest near the park
• Weekday afternoons = fewer crowds at both spots πŸ•’

✨ Final Thoughts

Sometimes it’s not about chasing waterfalls or climbing peaks — it’s about finding joy in the simple things: a beautiful walk, good food, and quality time with your pup. 🐾❤️

Centennial Park + Martin’s BBQ made for the perfect Nashville mini escape, and we’re already looking forward to more dog-friendly city days ahead.

Until next time — happy trails, tasty bites, and wagging tails!
