Coastal Cruising on the South Beach Boardwalk with Simba the Adventure Pup πΎπ΄π
Hey friends! Ash here from Life on Paws and Wheels, and this week, Simba and I swapped out hiking boots for flip-flops (okay, just me — Simba stuck with paw pads!) and took on the South Beach Boardwalk in Miami, Florida.
Starting at the iconic South Pointe Park Pier and heading north toward Mid-Beach, this breezy, palm-lined boardwalk gave us a perfect dose of urban coastal charm. If you're traveling through South Florida and want to mix dog-friendly fun with city energy and beach views, this walk is a must.
✔️ Uninterrupted ocean views
✔️ Palm trees, white sand, and rolling waves
✔️ Colorful Art Deco architecture peeking through the buildings
✔️ People-watching paradise — joggers, rollerbladers, beachgoers, and pups alike
✔️ Dog-friendly vibes — just keep your pup leashed and respectful
We walked a 3-mile stretch one way and turned around for a relaxing out-and-back coastal stroll.
✔️ So many new smells from the ocean, restaurants, and passersby
✔️ Friendly faces and pet fans — Simba got lots of compliments
✔️ A chance to chill in shaded park areas when the boardwalk got busy
While dogs aren’t allowed on the beach itself, the boardwalk is fully pet-friendly — perfect for stretching those legs and soaking in the sunshine.
π§ Bring water for both you and your pup — there are fountains, but they’re spaced out
π Go early morning or evening for cooler temps and less foot traffic
π» Bathrooms and shade available near South Pointe Park
π Ώ️ Metered parking or garages nearby — South Pointe has a public lot
In our latest video, we capture the iconic coastal energy of South Beach, the relaxing rhythm of the boardwalk, and Simba’s tail-wagging joy as he explores the palm-lined path.
