Hey everyone! Ash here from Life on Paws and Wheels, and today Simba and I are slowing things down with a relaxing stroll through Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale — a scenic, dog-friendly escape right in the heart of the city.

After days of trail hikes and campground stays, it felt amazing to wander a waterfront promenade, enjoy the breeze off the New River, and take in the sights of downtown Fort Lauderdale — all at a pup-approved pace.

📍 About Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale

Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale is a beautiful linear park that hugs the New River as it winds through the city. It’s not your typical “hike,” but it’s definitely a walk worth taking.

Here’s what you’ll find:

🧭 Tips for Visiting with Your Dog

🐕 Dogs are welcome — just make sure they’re leashed and well-behaved.
🌞 Early morning or sunset — it’s cooler and more peaceful then.
💧 Bring water for your pup — there are fountains nearby, but not always accessible.
📸 Don’t rush — it’s a great spot for taking in the scenery and snapping pics.

🚐 RV Traveler Tip

While Riverwalk itself isn’t RV-accessible for parking, it’s close to multiple RV parks and campgrounds in the Fort Lauderdale area. If you’re staying nearby, this makes for a great day trip or a nice break in your urban exploration.

We left the RV parked at a nearby campground and made a quick drive into the city — totally worth it!
