Hey friends! Ash here from Life on Paws and Wheels, and today Simba and I are sharing a peaceful, shady stroll through one of South Florida’s best-kept secrets — the Tree Tops Nature Trail at Tree Tops Park in Davie, FL.
If you’re looking for a quick escape into nature, love quiet boardwalks under towering oaks, and want to enjoy it all with your dog by your side, this trail is an ideal stop — especially if you’re RVing near Fort Lauderdale or just passing through the area.

πΊ️ About the Trail
The Tree Tops Nature Trail is a ~1-mile easy loop tucked within the larger Tree Tops Park, just west of Fort Lauderdale. This short trail packs a lot into a small space:✔️ Elevated boardwalks through native wetlands
✔️ Shaded oak hammocks and forested paths
✔️ A peaceful, uncrowded vibe that makes it easy to relax and slow down
It's a perfect low-impact hike for all ages, all seasons, and especially for dogs who love exploring at a calm pace.
✔️ Cool shade under the trees — even in Florida warmth, this trail stayed comfortable.
✔️ Sniff-worthy boardwalks and nature nooks — Simba was in his happy place.
✔️ Calm + quiet — fewer distractions meant more time to enjoy being in the moment.
We didn’t see many people on the trail, which gave Simba room to explore, sniff, and soak in the peaceful surroundings.
π§ Bring your own water — especially if you’re visiting during warmer months.
π Stay alert near water — this is Florida, so always keep an eye out for wildlife.
π· Don’t forget your camera — the light filtering through the oak canopy is beautiful.
π§Ί Pack a picnic — the park has lovely shaded picnic areas nearby.
While the park doesn’t offer RV camping, there are plenty of RV parks and campgrounds nearby, making this a great day stop.
In our latest video, we guide you through the full loop of the Tree Tops Nature Trail, showcasing its natural beauty, quiet moments, and Simba’s joy as he explores this hidden gem of a park.
