Hey everyone! Ash here from Life on Paws and Wheels, and today Simba and I are trading the forest trails for some ocean breeze and salty air with a quick visit to Fort Lauderdale Beach in sunny South Florida.

This isn't a hike, but it is one of those detours that fills your soul — a gentle walk along the oceanfront, paws on pavement, palms swaying overhead, and the sound of waves in the background. Whether you're full-timing in your RV or just craving a little sunshine, this spot delivers the classic beach vibes in the best way.

📍 About the Stop

Fort Lauderdale Beach is known for its wide stretches of sand, scenic oceanfront promenade, and those iconic blue-and-white wave walls. It’s not just a great place to visit — it’s the perfect place for a leisurely walk with your pup.

🧭 Tips for Visiting with Your Dog

🐕 Keep your pup leashed — Fort Lauderdale Beach only allows dogs in specific zones, and rules are enforced.
🕐 Go early or late — mornings and evenings are cooler and less crowded.
💦 Bring water + a bowl — the boardwalk is long and sunny.
🧼 Clean up after your dog — there are bag stations and trash bins along the route.
🅿️ Metered parking — street parking is available near the beach access points.

🚐 RV Traveler Tip

While there’s no RV parking directly at the beach, you can stay at one of the nearby RV parks or county campgrounds and drive in with a smaller vehicle. We were camped just outside of town and made this a perfect morning detour before heading inland again.
